Astragalizein, the game with the lambs’ knukle bones, was one of the most favorite games of both boys and girls in ancient Greece. The ankles were collected from the hind legs of goats and lambs. A variation of this game was “artiazein astragalous”, during which a child would try to guess if the number of the bones in the opponent’s hand was even or odd
