The “Isthmian pitis” was the pine wreath with which the winners of the Isthmian Games, or Isthmia, were awarded. The Isthmia were one of the panhellenic games of Ancient Greece, named after the Corinthian Isthmus were they were held. The first Isthmian Games were held in 582 BC
