Expert Tip
The king of the Lapiths and half-brother of the Centaurs, Perithus, invited the Centaur Eurytion to his wedding with Hippodameia. Eurytion, known for his improper behavior, became drunk and tried to kidnap the bride. The Lapiths, offended by the Centaurus’ disrespect, mutilated him and threw him out of the feast. This event angered the Centaurs as they attacked the Lapiths, but the latter had Theseus on their side, who helped them to repel the Centaurs and cast them away.
