Eva Kountouraki explains"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>A rosette is a stylized flower design. It is the Greek rosette, a decorative motif used extensively since antiquity and in various cultures. From Mesopotamia, Egypt, ancient Greece and Rome, to India and Central Asia, we find it in architecture, jewelry, as a decoration on clothing and musical instruments. In jewellery from the 15th century onwards, rosettes are formed from a central coloured gemstone surrounded by smaller diamonds.
